Dalai Lama

I would like to have a date with Dalai Lama, (mw)I was always interested in him,(p) and since I was a child I loved his tunics and the tranquility that(mw) inspires. I admire him because he is a man who fights for the peace in the world,(p) for example (ww)in September 1987 he proposed the Five Point Peace Plan for Tibet as the first step towards a peaceful solution to the (ww)worsening situation in (mw)Tibet. When I was a child(p) My mom always read me some of the reflections of this holly man. For example (mws)about Laws of Nature he said that he deeply (wt)believe that human beings are gentle with nature, and he feel that we should not only maintain peaceful and gentle with our fellow human being, (p)also is very important to extend the same kind of attitude to the other (ww)alive being, with our natural environment. We should be concerned for our whole environment. So If someday I could talk with him, I would like (mw)talk about the relationship between (ew)the humans and the environment. I would like to see him in a place without city noises, to hear the sounds of nature like the sea, birds and animals(p)

A country a would like to visit

I would like to visit France......Basically, (ww)cause in France there are lot of bands, good bands(mw), that I dream one day to (ww)see them in (ww)live. Also it's a frequent point of destination for (ww)another bands from the (ew)rest of Europe and North America, because in France there (wt)are a really good music scene. Also I would like to visit France (ww)for make a post-graduate, maybe in urban planning or something like (ww)this.France is a very nice country, with (s)beautifull cities and landscapes, and a great culture with (wo)innovative ideas in the academic area. I have some family friends there. (p)They live in Lyon in the southwest of France. I lived with them for four years here in Chile and I have not seen them (mw)long time ago. It would be great to travel there with friends, people who like the same kind of music as me. It would be great to go for a drink in a bar in Paris, go to a(mw) show or to travel across the county on the TGV, and visit (ew)the beaches of the Mediterranean coast. Also I could go with my girlfriend because (ww)every people says that Paris is a very romantic place.

In September 18th, chileans do (mw)lot of typical things (unlike the rest of the year) and (mw)games like "rayuela", "palo encebado" and the popular kite flying. Also chilean people love to eat and drink a lot when (mw)the September 18th (ww)comes, (p)the family meets in barbacues and they drink (ew)grape chicha and wine. Other typical foods are the "empanadas" and the "anticuchos", (ww)those foods and drinks can be (wt)find in "fondas" (ww)or "ramadas", (p)places where (ew) the people dance "cueca" or other popular tropical dances. (p)a good film: Good Bye (p)lenin!
I really love to watch films a lot,(p) then it is very difficult for me to (ww)choice one of them (ew)as the best I have seen. (?)But at least, the best film I have seen, was Good Bye Lenin! of the german director, Wolfgang Becker made in 2003. The first time I saw it, (p)was 2 years ago. I read the argue of the film in a magazine and after(?) I started to search it in different places. (s)Finaly, I found it in (ew)the "Persa Bio-bio" (a place that I really hate) in a (ww) stall that sells bootleg films for only $1,000. When I returned (ew)to (ew)my home, I (ww)saw it,(s)whit my brother, and we were very impressed. The story is about the fall of the old German Democratic Republic in 1989, (ew)in (wf)particular about a family divided by (ew)the political positions, (the mother is a (s) suporter of Honnecker and the workers party and the son is a (s)suporter of the opening to the west)(p) but when the mother suffer a heart attack and after 8 months in coma, (time in what the (p) berlin wall was fell) the son decides to keep alive the German (s) Democaric Republic for (wo)care his mother. (mw)Is a great film that I have seen more than a dozen times!

Truth * Beauty * Freedom * Love

My favorite film is Moulin Rouge, (ew)and I (ww)saw it for (wo) the first time (mw)in 2002, in (ew)my Summer Holidays. I (ww)saw the film in my aunt´s apartment, eating pizza and drinking coca-cola. I still remember,(wo)me and my aunt cried like a baby with the romantic and sad end.
The film is (mw) the story of Christian (Ewan McGregor), a handsome, young writer, (mw)goes against his father's wishes and moves to Montmartre, Paris. It's the perfect atmosphere for an aspiring young writer ( p) who yearns for a (ww)freer, more bohemian lifestyle. He meets the artist, Toulouse-Lautrec. (p)Teaming up with the acting troupe living upstairs and headed by Lautrec, (p) Christian meets and falls (mw) (ew)hard for the featured star of the Moulin Rouge, Satine, “The Sparkling Diamond”. Together with Lautrec's actors, Satine and Christian (wt) create "Spectacular, Spectacular", a play that Satine hopes will make her a star. Financing (mw) is an issue and Satine's boss, Zidler, (ww)pins his hopes on a Duke. The Duke agrees to finance the play, and a renovation of the Moulin Rouge, in exchange (ww)for a contract that binds Satine (ww)to him. MY BLOGGING EXPERIENCE

What I liked?
I liked so much this activity, because we can learn more about our classmates, their favorites (ww)things, singers, places, idols etc. In addition(p) (ew)doing (wt)corrections (ew)of the posts of another classmate I (ww)realised (ew)of (?)my (mw)English level. I liked that every week we have to post something, (wo)to learn English is very important the continuity and never to forget (ww)to practice.

What I didn´t like?

First, I didn’t like the (ww)timetable of the class because after lunch I (mw)fell asleep, and (p)Is impossible (ww)to me to write a lot of words in my blog. Second, I didn’t like the classroom, because (wo)the computers were not enough for (ew)the students and (wo) always were problems with internet or (ww)anything.

What helped me learn English?
The things that helped me to learn English was the funny way,(p) reporting things what I like(?), and showing to my friends my favorite places, songs, famous person, and my decision to study geography. And I enjoy visiting the BBC website (mw)I could learn (ew)many vocabulary and (ww)all was so funny (mw) with puzzles, riddles and much more.

My favourite post was (p)My favourite place in Chile, because I (wt)can show to my (s)class mate the wonderful places, and secrets,(mw) (p)the beach with the (ww)biggest waves in the island and the lagoon were I (ww)played kayak. I loved the post which you can report your (ww)interest and allow (mw) (mw)know the interests of (ew) the other people.

My least favourite post?

My least favourite post was the post about Why? Why? Why? Because I couldn´t (wt)come to the class and I have to do it (ww)in (ww)my (ww)house and was (mw)boring (wt)write the post alone, because when you are with your friends posting you can (ww)interchange opinions and make questions.

Which is the best blog in the class?

I think that the best blog in the class is the blog of Natalia called “Kúmelkayen” that means Patience, something that Naty needs in TONS. I liked this blog because (mw)have funny pictures and colours. The posts are very good written and have a little bit of humor(p)

Me, five years from now
When I see to the past (wo), five years back, I realize that my life has (wt) experimented a lot of changes. It makes me think that within five years lot of things (ww) will be different. "My first experience at spying on others´ blogs"

I think that this experience will be great. We will learn a lot (ww)about correcting other´s writing and also to identify some typical (ww) grammatic errors. At (s)firts I felt a little bit uncomfortable reading about an unknown person but after reading their blogs I felt that I already (ww)know a little about them. I was very happy that I recognized many grammatical errors right away. I also identified their way of writing because one of them is more descriptive and the other student is more precise (mws). This kind of activity (ew)it is going to be very useful for our learning and the most important thing (ew)it is that I had a good first experience so I am very motivated!!!

My favourite technology device is the Mp4. I think that it is incredible that in a very small device you can listen to music, play games, watch videos and (mw) everything you want. Tiqui, tiqui, ti.............
Well, the Fiestas Patrias is the (ww) better (mw)of the year. Alhué´s Fieldtrip
My Favourite Fieldtrip was the last one (mw). We (ww)come to Alhué, (mw)3 hours from Santiago to the southwest. (ww)Is a little town called Villa Alhué that has serious problems of pollution, caused by a mining that waste dumps in the river. We went there to investigate the effects of the mining on the environment. Sadly the effects are easily to (ww)see, the biodiversity (mw) decrease, the beekeeping it is over, and the water in the river is orange in some places. The fieldtrip was amazing because we entered in private’s properties and we had to (ww)stay very quiet (ww)if (ew)anybody looked the surroundings we had to run very fast to any hideout. But (mw) was incredible to discover the orange hidden waste, really (ew)really hidden, we had to (wt)crossing the river and (wt)walk kilometres to find it. And(mw) was not the only, (wnf)others guys find another (p) few kilometres further. Then the teacher brought some appliances to measured electric conductivity, pH, dissolved solids, and with a shovel the guys took samples of sediments in the river. Now we have to analyze the samples in (mw)laboratory to show the effects of the mining in this part of the river. The next Field Trip (mw) will go to the higher part of the river, further than the withdrawal mining, there ( p), we think, the conditions are the best, without the mining pollution.

(p)my new ipod!

Last week, I (s)bougth an ipod nano (wo)of 2 gigabytes for(ww) a good(ww) price(p), and (ew)finally after one moth of a (ew)terrible suffering, I (wt)have heard again,(p) the music that I like in those long and boring travels from my house to (ew)the (ww)college. My last mp3 (ww)reproductor was a sony walkman of 512 megabytes (wo) that I (s)bougth last year but it was damaged(p), then I had to use the radio of my cell phone (I hate (ww)radio music) or (ww)put up with the noise of the "reggaeton" (ww)in the "flaites" cell phones who sit beside me on the bus(rw). For me, is very important(mw) listen to (ew) the music (specially my strange kind of music) (p)for this reason , I can't not have just (ew)any mp3 reproductor. (ww)
The ipod is very (ww)special, because it (wt)playing (wo)every format of music files, and it (wt)have a very easy way to operate it and manage (ew)the music files. Also I can(wo) watch photos and store information on it, even it (wt)have games too! "Kes"

Billy burried Kes. He had lost everything he had and nothing was going to stop his pain. Time went by and nothing changed in Billy´s life. Jud was still the same jackass, her mother was never at home and Billy was still considerated as a problematic student.

Billy had a second job interview with the school councilor. He was really worried about Billy´s future so he tried to talk to him in order to find out possible solutions. After a very non dynamic conversation Billy told the social worker that he was interested in animals, especially in birds. The councilor begun to read some papers and after a while he told Billy that there was a possible job in an animal store. Billy got motivated and asked him if it was possible to earn money by doing something that you liked and the council answered him that everything was possible if you wanted to. The councilor arranged a meeting with the store owner and taught Billy some tips to have a good job interview.

Billy was very interested with the job so he read more about animals, he got a suit and he got prepared for the interview, he really wanted the job.

The day of the interview Billy met Michael, the store owner, very early in the morning in the animal store. Billy was very nervous but it was not an obstacle to told him about his experiences with animals, especially with Kes. After 45 minutes of talking, Michael told him that he was perfect for the job and that Billy remembered himself when he was young, so that he was going to give him a chance. Billy was really excited and he told Michael that he was not going to dissapoint him.

Now Billy had a purpose, something interesting in his life that was going to keep him far away of his own tragedy, something to live for, as Kes was in the past.

"Experiences with error corrections"

Well, I think that correcting errors is harder than what I thought it was. This experience is going to help us a lot in our way of learning English as a second language. Although sometimes this experience could be very frustrating, it is useful as future teachers of English and I hope, as time passes, we would become better.

I have noticed that many students make the same mistakes and they do not even know which are them, so meanwhile we are learning and practicing, we are also helping them in their own learning. Also a good exercise is to correct our own posts because sometimes we do not discovered mistakes until we have read it more than twice.

It is amazing how we can learn with this experience. Firstly because we can identify someones´errors and we not tend to make it. Secondly, because we can practice and learn techniques to have a better correction and a quicker one.

In a very small city of Austria a man kidnap his daughter for almost 24 years. He also raped her and had 7 children with his own daughter. The name of kidnapper is Josef Fritzl he recognize all of his acts and meanwhile the case is investigated he is in prison. The seven children were found with psychological problems and with skin problems because they have never seen the light of the sun.

I (WT) loved the BBC webpage, is very interesting and funny. I visited a link where I(WT) can complete songs of different singers like Phil Collins, Mariah Carey, and Michael Jackson. Another link that I visited was (MW) Grammar and Vocabulary (MW)but (P),(MW) (X)these did not like (MW) (X) me, I think (X) that it was very (WT)bored, because is (MW)so slowly download (MW) (WW)the listening part and (WW)also the computers at the university are not the best. But now my (SP) favorite part (MW); Quizzes (P), when I discovered this link, I only (WT) play this games (X)all the first part of the class. At the first moment I made (MW) Crosswords (X)but it was difficult because (MW) only talk about marketing words, that I (WT)do not know. Later I played a game that (MW) (WW)named “WordMaster” where you have to guess the word from the clues to score points(P), (P)my best pointed was 15.000!!!. Initially I want (ww)to study journalism and the career of geography I put it in third option (wwo), but I didn’t reach the points for (ew) to study journalism and (ww)I began to studying(wt) geography. About Me and my Family
Hi my name is Catalina, I’m 21 years old,(P) I live with my mother and my sister, we lived (wt) in Santiago since 2005, when I entered to University(wwo). Before we lived in many islands of the Chiloé Archipelago of Chiloé, because my father worked with the aquaculture(wwo). Now my father is living in Puerto Aysén southern(ww) than Chiloé, and have a new little(ww) family with Paty, his new wife, and Bastián my little brother, he is 2 years old.My mother was(wt) a obstetrician, but while we lived(wt) in Chiloé she didn´t work because there was( wt) no hospitals, and the city was faraway(ws) from the island. But when we arrived to Santiago in 2005, she decided (mw)study again at the University and entered (ww) to Catholic University of Chile and studied Nursery, (p) she only studied while(ww) two years because the University (mw)approved some subjects from(mw) the Obstetrician career. Now she worked (wt)in the Sótero del Rio Hospital in Santiago(wwo).My sister is 18 years old, and this(ww) is the last year at the (ex)school, and she is deciding what career(mw) study(p), but she is very confused,(p) I think that(mw) will be better If she will use (wt) the(ew) next year to think and be safe(ww). "Typical mistakes"

After reading the last posts of the three students, I can say that in general they commit the same grammatical errors as their previous posts.
Mauro’s post is very well written but as I noticed before it contains wrong word (WW) and also in his last post it contains wrong word order (WWO).
As I said in my last post, Catalina is very good at descriptions. She wants to express many things and she does but not in an appropriate way. She commits the same grammar mistakes as wrong word (WW), wrong tense (WT) and also many punctuation mistakes. Maybe this last point attempts directly in the way that she wants to express herself. Her ideas are not well order because in some cases she uses a comma instead of a period or the other way around.
David’s post has the same kind of errors. Most of them are related with word order (WW). This problem usually happens because students tend to translate what they want to express themselves. However, in this post I could notice more grammatical mistakes as wrong tense (WT), and also David’s ideas are not well expressed because he has many punctuation mistakes (P).
The three different students tend to commit the same error. In general their posts contain wrong word order (WWO), as I said before the problem lies in the idea of translation (Spanish-English).
In my personal opinion, the most difficult thin to correct is punctuation. First of all, because I also have punctuation problems in Spanish Also because in same cases we have to change almost all the text to make it sense.
I think that the only solution to improve student’s writing is to read and read the final paper, many times as possible, until it makes sense to you. Using a dictionary is always a good support to be sure that you are spelling is correct and that you are using the correct word.

After reading Mauro’s blog I can say that he has very good English. He can express everything he wants to say and with a very good use of grammar and spelling. Maybe the only grammatical mistakes that I found were related with wrong word (WW) but in general he is very good!!!

After reading David’s blog I can say that he has some grammatical mistakes. I can say that he wants to tell us many stories of his personal life but sometimes they are not understandable because it contain wrong order word (WOW), wrong use of the word (WW) and also some words are missing (MW).

She can express what she wants to say and this is very important because as readers we can understand her. I compared her last 2 posts and I found similar errors. For example I identified wrong use of word (WW), also punctuation mistakes (P), wrong spelling (WS) and finally wrong tense (WT).

"My first experience at spying on others´ blogs"

I think that this experience will be great. We will learn a lot about correcting other´s writing and also to identify some typical grammatic errors. At firts I felt a little bit uncomfortable reading about an unknown person but after reading their blogs I felt that I already know a little about them. I was very happy that I recognized many grammatical errors right away. I also identified their way of writing because one of them is more descriptive and the other student is more precise. This kind of activity it is going to be very useful for our learning and the most important thing it is that I had a good first experience so I am very motivated!!!

"Use of blogs"

This semester we have being using a new way of learning English. At first we didn’t know how to use it but time past by and now I can say that we have become professional’s bloggers. At the beginning of this new experience I didn’t imagine how useful it would be to use a blog.
Some of my classmates weren’t very happy with this assignment because they don’t like to work with computers and internet tools. In my personal opinion, I really like this experience because I love to use technology and I think that it is necessary too. Internet and Computers are very useful to learn English as a second language because we can learn the use of English in programs, software, games, and also on line in order to practice the four essential skills, reading, listening, speaking, and writing. As future teachers we must be updated with the new inventions and new advances so that is why we have to make use of any kind of resource that can help us to teach English.
Using a blog has many advantages as students of a second language. First of all you can practice your writing and also the way you evaluate others. Most of the time, you can write about your own personal opinion, personal experiences and topics from your own area of interest. Using a blog makes you be more aware of current events and also to use your critical thinking about different topics.
Maybe the only disadvantage that it can affect the use of a blog is when a blogger don´t know how to use it and he doesn’t take advantage of it. Otherwise it could be an excellent tool to learn English in an effective way.
If you have a good use of the blog you can obtain amazing results. I think that in the future I will use it in order to teach my students because it is a different activity were they can express themselves and use their knowledge. In my experience I have also notices that students enjoy very much going to the computers lab so this activity will be more entertainer and a rewarding experience.

Comparison between social classes in “The Commitments” and “Rumble Fish”

Each story contains a different topic that depends on the social context that the characters are involved in. Every social class causes different situations or realities. As the web site describes, social classes is a distinction between groups. They are usually divided and grouped into classes according on their economic position and economic and political interests. [1]
A writer must be informed about the real life of the different social classes, which are grouped in a specific place, before he starts his work in order to describe it according to their own experience.

The Commitments is the story of a group of people that are big funs of music, especially blues. As an individual and as a group they have a purpose, a motivation in life. They want to be someone and be recognized for their work and talent. The book shows as that they are class that has many possibilities to carry out with their own dreams.
On the other way around, Rumble fish is a story that relates a different reality. It shows the cruel daily life of a group of people that have no purpose in life and no interests in their own development. They don’t have any goals and they waste any possibility to be someone in life. They imitate and follow a figure that isn’t an example of person for everyone just for them.
The Commitments and Rumble fish shows two different realities. Each of them has different interesting. The characters of The Commitments have goals and dreams in life because their society has shown them that it is necessary and also because they know that they need to be someone in life to survive. The characters of Rumble Fish become from a society were surviving is something that you live every day. They don’t think that a job is necessary, they only live thinking and acting against their own lives.

In conclusion we can say that The Commitments and Rumble Fish contains different topic in order to exemplify their own reality. Both characters have different thoughts and realities that are shown to make the reader more aware of the develop of each topic.
As readers we must be aware of the different realities in the social classes in order to have a better comprehension and also to clarify the reasons of the development of the story.

"MY LEAST FAVOURITE SUBJECT"

My least favourite school subject was Mathematics, especially geometry and algebra. I studied it for about, my entire life, since I entered to school. Even I had a course in our first year here at Alberto Hurtado´s University. I think that mainly I didn’t like it because I didn’t understand the lessons and also because I wasn’t interested in it. Each year I had a different teacher of maths but I remember especially one. His name was Antonio; he was a very old man, that every student was very afraid of him. I think that he was the only teacher that woke up an interest to study maths. He told me ones, that maths were everything. That I was always going to be involved with maths and that it was fundamental for our daily routine. I remembered that I had my best average in maths, when he taught me that year, because he explain me it uses and also give me the chance to make mistakes. He always said that you learn making mistakes.

I think that the first time I saw this painting was a long time ago. Maybe I was 11 years old. I remembered that I was in an art class at school and I had a teacher that was a big fun of Salvador Dali. She taught us a lot of him and she showed us many different paintings of him.
I like his paintings because I think that each painting has many details that are hidden. In some of his paintings there are images that appeared like a combination of others elements that are shown in the painting. Each time you see a Dali’s painting you can spend many hours in front of it looking for details and hidden messages. I like this painting in particular because it makes a contrast of time and loneliness.
It makes me feel that time is not everything that in the end time is not something that really matters. People nowadays think that time is everything, they live in a hurry, but this painting shows that you need to make a stop and think about the things that are around us.

RUMBLE FISH - THE MOVIE

How important are the following characters in the film Rumble fish:

Rusty James: First of all he is the most important character since he is the main character. He is a very lonely child; he acts as he is bigger than his real age. His only goal is to be alike the motorcycle boy.

The Motorcycle Boy: He is Rusty James brother. He is a young man that doesn’t have a job or even a goal. He is a very mysterious man; you can never know what he was thinking about. He always tries to protect and help his brother since Rusty James is always involved in fights.

Steve Hays: He is very different from the rest. He likes to study and has goals. He is the one that help Rusty James at school with his assignments. He is always with him until he notices that he wants other things for his future. He was Rusty James best friend but then they never met again because both of them wanted different things.

Patty: She is the best looking girl at school and maybe at town. She seems to be a very good daughter and also a very good student. I think that Rusty James really liked her but he didn’t notice till she broke up with him. She likes very rude guys, very different from her personality.

Cassandra: She is totally in love with the motorcycle boy. She seems to be a drug addict because of her attitudes and the way that she speaks. Rusty James really hates her because I think he was jealous. Also because he thinks that she isn’t enough pretty and she is very addict to drugs.

Patterson: He is a cop of town that hates both brothers but essentially he hated the motorcycle boy the most. He was always looking if someone commits disturbance or an illegal act. Finally he made what he wanted, make the motorcycle boy disappear. He shot him because he entered to the pet shop and liberated all the animals of the store.

Smokey: At first he was in Rusty James gang. He was one of his closest friend but not his best friend. He seems to be very intelligent because he think very carefully before acting. He likes Patty, Rusty James ex girlfriend, and finally she is her girlfriend. Smokey takes Rusty James place, now he is the toughest guy of town. Now he is the one that everyone respects.

Rusty's parents: Well Rusty James mother abandoned them when they were very little maybe because she was tired of being a mother and she wanted to live new adventures. Rusty father is an alcoholic man that doesn’t take care of his children. He wasted all of his time drinking in bars and being drunk. He started to drink when his wife abandoned him. I think that he was so depressive that he couldn’t hang his Childs.

"CORRECTION"

Queen Elizabeth... Why not???
It was so difficult for me to think about a person I would like to meet, but I thought about my university needs. During our Civilization & Culture II course we have been studding about Queen Elizabeth I. I really don’t know too much about her, and actually I need to know more in order to carry out with my assessments.A good moment to talk to her would be drinking tea in her castle. We will talk about her life, which was the most important events during her reign, why she decides to become the virgin queen, her life, her everything; all those things in her own words. May be I could give her some advices, in order to create a connection between England and Chile … why not? Maybe it would help us to be a developed country and to live in better conditions, and what is more interesting it would help us to speak English since birth… Well in those conditions we should think about studding another language like Portuguese or Nigerian.


Correction:
It was so difficult for me to thnk about a person that I would like to meet, but I thought about my university skills. I really don´t know too much about her, so actually I need to investigate more in order to carry out with my assessments.

"Your opinion counts"

After reading marjorie´s blog and exploring it, I can say that it is very complete and it has every assigment that we had done in classes. It has good comments and very complete ones.
The thing is that the blog is very interesting and it has very interesting topics, but it didn´t call my attention. I believe that visual aids are very important to cautivate everyone´s attention. Maybe Marjorie should put more color in her blog in order to motivate more useres to read it. Although she has beautiful pictures to show and clarify what she wants to say , she need more colors to create different perspectives between topics and maybe personal interests.
I have also visited other blogs and I think that it is very attractive to upload personal stuff and maybe photos to show you personal likes.
Marjorie has a ver good and entertainer way to wirte but maybe she needs to improve the design part.

"One to one"

I think that I would like to have a one to one with many people. It is very hard to think in only one person to have a one to one. Maybe I would like to have a one to one with Josef Fritzl. Even he is not an example of a good person he could answer me many questions that I have about his terrible acts. I can’t imagine a good reason for his acts so I want to know his reasons and his thoughts. First of all I would ask him why he committed those horrible acts. I would ask him if he was in love with his daughter, if he loved her daughter, if he thinks that his acts are something normal and usual as a father and of course I would like to know if he is regretful or even ashamed about his acts. I would like to have a one to one with Fritzl while we visit the scene of the crime. While I would ask him about his acts he would explain me how he committed his crime in the specific place.

"Japanese learning English"

It is a completely different form as we learn English but I think that it could bring very good results, Chinese people are very intelligent so they must have a good reason. I think that it is excellent that this method has two purposes because as the same time you are improving your English, you are working out. You are training both mind and body and I think that this is great!!! The only think I know that I would never forget what it means; “take anything you want”.
WOW, I think that it is easier to learn English than Japanese. I don’t want to imagine how it would be learning Japanese!!!! I guess I will continue practicing my English.

"Horror in Austria"

In a very small city of Austria a man kidnap his daughter for almost 24 years. He also raped her and had 7 children with his own daughter. The name of kidnapper is Josef Fritzl he recognize all of his acts and meanwhile the case is investigated he is in prison. The seven children were found with psychological problems and with skin problems because they have never seen the light of the sun.

"My favourite place in Chile"

Chile is a beautiful country with a wide variety of landscapes. The north of Chile is very different from the south. In the north of Chile you can find arid vegetation and in the south you can find green fields and many lakes and rivers. I have visited many places in Chile, seven years ago I went to the north of Chile and almost every summer my family and I try to escape to the south of Chile. The place that I have enjoyed visiting the most is Pucon. Maybe it is because its landscapes and the wide variety of activities that you can make. Pucon is located in the IX region, near the Villarica`s lake. The last time I went to Pucon was 4 yours ago. I went with my family and we rent a beach cabin. We went for two weekends and we had a great time. I remember that we went everyday to the beach and also almost every night to the casino. We also tried everyday to take for a walk and know more places. If you come to Chile, you must visit Pucon!!!

"The Commitments"

“The commitments” is a very diverting story of how a band was formed and dissolved. I must say that I am a big fun of movies, so I enjoyed watching the movie in the class. I believe that the movie was more like a musical because it focuses much of the time in songs and in The Commitment’s gigs. I think that the movie emphasize too much about the music, and as the same time it misses parts that are essential to know more about the characters and their development in the story. When I watched the movie I could realized that I imagined most of the scenes and the characters were very similar as I thought.
Reading the story of “The Commitments” was very fun. I can’t think why I enjoyed more reading the story than watching the movie. Maybe it is because I enjoyed the story and the developments of the characters through the story.
In general the movie was pretty similar as the story in the book but we can also notice some differences. Most of the differences are at the beginning and at the end of the story. The most important difference is when at the end of the movie, “The Commitments” were totally dissolved and in the book Jimmy tried to reform the group. We can also identify that the way that the story is told is different. The story is told most of the time by a narrator and in the movie the story is told by Jimmy as the most important character.
To conclude, I must say that I prefer reading the book rather watching the movie. Commonly I prefer watching movies than reading books but in this instance, I can truly say that I loved this story because I felt that I used my imagination and I could prove it when I watched the movie.
I recommend “The Commitments” and also to make this kind of activities because we can practice through three of the most important skills, reading, listening and writing. I really enjoyed this activity. I think that it is a good idea to have this kinds of test where most of our abilities, in our second language, are evaluated.

Nowadays it is very common to talk about global warming. Everyone talks about it, in the news, at school, on the internet, etc.
Global warming is an important topic that everybody should know about it and be conscious of it. In the lasts few years, the temperature of the world has increased because human beings don´t have any conscious and has been acting against our own planet. People need to know what affects our planet and stop doing things that increases high temperatures. If we think maybe this problem is not going to affect us directly, but we must be aware of our children and our grandchildren´s environment, because they will probably suffer this problem.

Oh!! This site is great, I have never explored it that much, so I didn´t imagine that it was so complete and useful. The site contains too much information that can be useful for teachers and also for learners. Teachers can easily prepare a class with the wide variety of quizzes and games that this web site provides. Also learners of English, as a foreign language, can practice the four essential skills, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This web site is very entertainment for all likes. For example, you can read the news or you can be informed about the last events in sports and also you can check the weather. The main thing is to learn while you are having fun. You can also learn about different topics and also current events from all over the world and meanwhile practice reading, you are learning new vocabulary words. Every section contains information that is very useful to practice and be in contact with the language.

Talks Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?

I think that this talk is very interesting and also very entertaining!!! He is a very intelligent man and he know how to make people motivated. He says things that are very true. Children are very creative but schools dont lend them to be creative. Schools only wants to follow patterns and a schedule, they don´t allow children to act differently or to show them new ideas. As future teachers we must promote children´s creativity!!!

am a big fan of facebook. I started to use this web site 4 months ago. One of my best friend told me that there was a new interesting site. I didn´t want to be the onlyone without facebook, so I opened an account. At first I didn´t know how to use it, but now I can manage it very well.

I visit facebook almost everyday and maybe sometimes twice. I think that this site is very interesting because you can do many things. For example you can watch the photographs of every contact that you had add. Also you can have instant messages and a lot of applications that have a lot of fun. This applications can be from sending gifts to poke someone. I really like this site because you never get bored of it.

Facebook is a site that has been very successful, I have met new people and through its quizzes I have realized many things about my own life. I recommend this site for anyone that like having friends and also to people that spend too much time in the computer. "What he did seems inhuman"

Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful moments for any woman. Being pregnant is something natural that must have cares and the support of the father.

I was very impressed when I read the article, because I can´t imagine how men can act so aggressively, when women they are supposly in love with, are pregnant. I have always known that men can be very aggressive and abusive but I didn´t know that during the pregnancy, men become more vulnerable to partner agression. I think that when a couple decide to have relations they must be aware of all the things that it involves. Expecting a child is one of the most beautiful things that anyone can live, so noone can´t act against it. If the woman decides to have her baby, the father must accept her decision. There are many cases where the father doesn´t have any relation with his child but he doesn´t try to kill him or anything similar. It´s so inhuman that men act aggressively or giving the mother abortive pills, only because they don´t want to have a baby. If the father can´t have the baby they must accept the decision of the mother and also the opportunity of his own child to live.

My favourite technology device

My favourite technology device is the Mp4. I think that it is incredible that in a very small device you can listen to music, play games, watch videos and everything you want. The only problem is that they are very expensive, they are over the budget of any student. Mac is a very expensive brand and also it technology is the best quality you can ask for. Mac has also a wide range of their products, they have desings and colors for all likes. I think that investing in a mp4 of Mac is a very good inversion, because it can last you for ever.
