Dalai Lama

I would like to have a date with Dalai Lama, (mw)I was always interested in him,(p) and since I was a child I loved his tunics and the tranquility that(mw) inspires. I admire him because he is a man who fights for the peace in the world,(p) for example (ww)in September 1987 he proposed the Five Point Peace Plan for Tibet as the first step towards a peaceful solution to the (ww)worsening situation in (mw)Tibet. When I was a child(p) My mom always read me some of the reflections of this holly man. For example (mws)about Laws of Nature he said that he deeply (wt)believe that human beings are gentle with nature, and he feel that we should not only maintain peaceful and gentle with our fellow human being, (p)also is very important to extend the same kind of attitude to the other (ww)alive being, with our natural environment. We should be concerned for our whole environment. So If someday I could talk with him, I would like (mw)talk about the relationship between (ew)the humans and the environment. I would like to see him in a place without city noises, to hear the sounds of nature like the sea, birds and animals(p)

A country a would like to visit

I would like to visit France......Basically, (ww)cause in France there are lot of bands, good bands(mw), that I dream one day to (ww)see them in (ww)live. Also it's a frequent point of destination for (ww)another bands from the (ew)rest of Europe and North America, because in France there (wt)are a really good music scene. Also I would like to visit France (ww)for make a post-graduate, maybe in urban planning or something like (ww)this.France is a very nice country, with (s)beautifull cities and landscapes, and a great culture with (wo)innovative ideas in the academic area. I have some family friends there. (p)They live in Lyon in the southwest of France. I lived with them for four years here in Chile and I have not seen them (mw)long time ago. It would be great to travel there with friends, people who like the same kind of music as me. It would be great to go for a drink in a bar in Paris, go to a(mw) show or to travel across the county on the TGV, and visit (ew)the beaches of the Mediterranean coast. Also I could go with my girlfriend because (ww)every people says that Paris is a very romantic place.

In September 18th, chileans do (mw)lot of typical things (unlike the rest of the year) and (mw)games like "rayuela", "palo encebado" and the popular kite flying. Also chilean people love to eat and drink a lot when (mw)the September 18th (ww)comes, (p)the family meets in barbacues and they drink (ew)grape chicha and wine. Other typical foods are the "empanadas" and the "anticuchos", (ww)those foods and drinks can be (wt)find in "fondas" (ww)or "ramadas", (p)places where (ew) the people dance "cueca" or other popular tropical dances. I (ww) discovered the September 18th, (wo)when I was 8, because (ew)only in this year I arrive to Chile. In Colombia, the national (ww)holiday is (ww)less important, so I was very (wt)impress by the magnitude of the feast. (p)a good film: Good Bye (p)lenin!
I really love to watch films a lot,(p) then it is very difficult for me to (ww)choice one of them (ew)as the best I have seen. (?)But at least, the best film I have seen, was Good Bye Lenin! of the german director, Wolfgang Becker made in 2003. The first time I saw it, (p)was 2 years ago. I read the argue of the film in a magazine and after(?) I started to search it in different places. (s)Finaly, I found it in (ew)the "Persa Bio-bio" (a place that I really hate) in a (ww) stall that sells bootleg films for only $1,000. When I returned (ew)to (ew)my home, I (ww)saw it,(s)whit my brother, and we were very impressed. The story is about the fall of the old German Democratic Republic in 1989, (ew)in (wf)particular about a family divided by (ew)the political positions, (the mother is a (s) suporter of Honnecker and the workers party and the son is a (s)suporter of the opening to the west)(p) but when the mother suffer a heart attack and after 8 months in coma, (time in what the (p) berlin wall was fell) the son decides to keep alive the German (s) Democaric Republic for (wo)care his mother. (mw)Is a great film that I have seen more than a dozen times!

Truth * Beauty * Freedom * Love

My favorite film is Moulin Rouge, (ew)and I (ww)saw it for (wo) the first time (mw)in 2002, in (ew)my Summer Holidays. I (ww)saw the film in my aunt´s apartment, eating pizza and drinking coca-cola. I still remember,(wo)me and my aunt cried like a baby with the romantic and sad end.
The film is (mw) the story of Christian (Ewan McGregor), a handsome, young writer, (mw)goes against his father's wishes and moves to Montmartre, Paris. It's the perfect atmosphere for an aspiring young writer ( p) who yearns for a (ww)freer, more bohemian lifestyle. He meets the artist, Toulouse-Lautrec. (p)Teaming up with the acting troupe living upstairs and headed by Lautrec, (p) Christian meets and falls (mw) (ew)hard for the featured star of the Moulin Rouge, Satine, “The Sparkling Diamond”. Together with Lautrec's actors, Satine and Christian (wt) create "Spectacular, Spectacular", a play that Satine hopes will make her a star. Financing (mw) is an issue and Satine's boss, Zidler, (ww)pins his hopes on a Duke. The Duke agrees to finance the play, and a renovation of the Moulin Rouge, in exchange (ww)for a contract that binds Satine (ww)to him. Christian and Satine's love must (ww)stay hidden to ensure the play (mw) (mw)will debut. MY BLOGGING EXPERIENCE

What I liked?
I liked so much this activity, because we can learn more about our classmates, their favorites (ww)things, singers, places, idols etc. In addition(p) (ew)doing (wt)corrections (ew)of the posts of another classmate I (ww)realised (ew)of (?)my (mw)English level. I liked that every week we have to post something, (wo)to learn English is very important the continuity and never to forget (ww)to practice.

What I didn´t like?

First, I didn’t like the (ww)timetable of the class because after lunch I (mw)fell asleep, and (p)Is impossible (ww)to me to write a lot of words in my blog. Second, I didn’t like the classroom, because (wo)the computers were not enough for (ew)the students and (wo) always were problems with internet or (ww)anything.

What helped me learn English?
The things that helped me to learn English was the funny way,(p) reporting things what I like(?), and showing to my friends my favorite places, songs, famous person, and my decision to study geography. And I enjoy visiting the BBC website (mw)I could learn (ew)many vocabulary and (ww)all was so funny (mw) with puzzles, riddles and much more.

My favourite post

My favourite post was (p)My favourite place in Chile, because I (wt)can show to my (s)class mate the wonderful places, and secrets,(mw) (p)the beach with the (ww)biggest waves in the island and the lagoon were I (ww)played kayak. I loved the post which you can report your (ww)interest and allow (mw) (mw)know the interests of (ew) the other people.

My least favourite post?

My least favourite post was the post about Why? Why? Why? Because I couldn´t (wt)come to the class and I have to do it (ww)in (ww)my (ww)house and was (mw)boring (wt)write the post alone, because when you are with your friends posting you can (ww)interchange opinions and make questions.

Which is the best blog in the class?

I think that the best blog in the class is the blog of Natalia called “Kúmelkayen” that means Patience, something that Naty needs in TONS. I liked this blog because (mw)have funny pictures and colours. The posts are very good written and have a little bit of humor(p)

Me, five years from now
When I see to the past (wo), five years back, I realize that my life has (wt) experimented a lot of changes. It makes me think that within five years lot of things (ww) will be different. (?)In the (s)begining, I think that I will be (mw) professional, (I hope) so therefore I will be working, I can't imagine where, but I'm sure that I will (ww)doing that. Maybe I (ww)will still be living in Chile, or maybe in another place of South America, but anyway I hope (ew)to can (ww)make any post-graduate abroad and return (ww)after. "My first experience at spying on others´ blogs"

I think that this experience will be great. We will learn a lot (ww)about correcting other´s writing and also to identify some typical (ww) grammatic errors. At (s)firts I felt a little bit uncomfortable reading about an unknown person but after reading their blogs I felt that I already (ww)know a little about them. I was very happy that I recognized many grammatical errors right away. I also identified their way of writing because one of them is more descriptive and the other student is more precise (mws). This kind of activity (ew)it is going to be very useful for our learning and the most important thing (ew)it is that I had a good first experience so I am very motivated!!!

My favourite technology device

My favourite technology device is the Mp4. I think that it is incredible that in a very small device you can listen to music, play games, watch videos and (mw) everything you want. The only problem is that they are very expensive, they are over the budget of any student. Mac is a very expensive brand and also (ww) it technology is the best quality you can ask for. Mac has also a wide range of (ew) their products, they have (s)desings and (mw)colors for all likes. I think that investing in a mp4 of Mac is a very good inversion, because it can last you for ever(p)

Tiqui, tiqui, ti.............
Well, the Fiestas Patrias is the (ww) better (mw)of the year. It's a (wo) date very special because (ww)it's (wt)celebrated the First Reunion of Government and for this reason (mw) is a date very (ww)happy for all. Alhué´s Fieldtrip
My Favourite Fieldtrip was the last one (mw). We (ww)come to Alhué, (mw)3 hours from Santiago to the southwest. (ww)Is a little town called Villa Alhué that has serious problems of pollution, caused by a mining that waste dumps in the river. We went there to investigate the effects of the mining on the environment. Sadly the effects are easily to (ww)see, the biodiversity (mw) decrease, the beekeeping it is over, and the water in the river is orange in some places. The fieldtrip was amazing because we entered in private’s properties and we had to (ww)stay very quiet (ww)if (ew)anybody looked the surroundings we had to run very fast to any hideout. But (mw) was incredible to discover the orange hidden waste, really (ew)really hidden, we had to (wt)crossing the river and (wt)walk kilometres to find it. And(mw) was not the only, (wnf)others guys find another (p) few kilometres further. Then the teacher brought some appliances to measured electric conductivity, pH, dissolved solids, and with a shovel the guys took samples of sediments in the river. Now we have to analyze the samples in (mw)laboratory to show the effects of the mining in this part of the river. The next Field Trip (mw) will go to the higher part of the river, further than the withdrawal mining, there ( p), we think, the conditions are the best, without the mining pollution.

(p)my new ipod!

Last week, I (s)bougth an ipod nano (wo)of 2 gigabytes for(ww) a good(ww) price(p), and (ew)finally after one moth of a (ew)terrible suffering, I (wt)have heard again,(p) the music that I like in those long and boring travels from my house to (ew)the (ww)college. My last mp3 (ww)reproductor was a sony walkman of 512 megabytes (wo) that I (s)bougth last year but it was damaged(p), then I had to use the radio of my cell phone (I hate (ww)radio music) or (ww)put up with the noise of the "reggaeton" (ww)in the "flaites" cell phones who sit beside me on the bus(rw). For me, is very important(mw) listen to (ew) the music (specially my strange kind of music) (p)for this reason , I can't not have just (ew)any mp3 reproductor. (ww)
The ipod is very (ww)special, because it (wt)playing (wo)every format of music files, and it (wt)have a very easy way to operate it and manage (ew)the music files. Also I can(wo) watch photos and store information on it, even it (wt)have games too! I really love my new ipod, and (ww)even though I'm not(mw) material boy, (ew)and I know that if I would (wt)lost it, my life would be terrible

"Kes"

Billy burried Kes. He had lost everything he had and nothing was going to stop his pain. Time went by and nothing changed in Billy´s life. Jud was still the same jackass, her mother was never at home and Billy was still considerated as a problematic student.

Billy had a second job interview with the school councilor. He was really worried about Billy´s future so he tried to talk to him in order to find out possible solutions. After a very non dynamic conversation Billy told the social worker that he was interested in animals, especially in birds. The councilor begun to read some papers and after a while he told Billy that there was a possible job in an animal store. Billy got motivated and asked him if it was possible to earn money by doing something that you liked and the council answered him that everything was possible if you wanted to. The councilor arranged a meeting with the store owner and taught Billy some tips to have a good job interview.

Billy was very interested with the job so he read more about animals, he got a suit and he got prepared for the interview, he really wanted the job.

The day of the interview Billy met Michael, the store owner, very early in the morning in the animal store. Billy was very nervous but it was not an obstacle to told him about his experiences with animals, especially with Kes. After 45 minutes of talking, Michael told him that he was perfect for the job and that Billy remembered himself when he was young, so that he was going to give him a chance. Billy was really excited and he told Michael that he was not going to dissapoint him.

Now Billy had a purpose, something interesting in his life that was going to keep him far away of his own tragedy, something to live for, as Kes was in the past.

"Experiences with error corrections"

Well, I think that correcting errors is harder than what I thought it was. This experience is going to help us a lot in our way of learning English as a second language. Although sometimes this experience could be very frustrating, it is useful as future teachers of English and I hope, as time passes, we would become better.

I have noticed that many students make the same mistakes and they do not even know which are them, so meanwhile we are learning and practicing, we are also helping them in their own learning. Also a good exercise is to correct our own posts because sometimes we do not discovered mistakes until we have read it more than twice.

It is amazing how we can learn with this experience. Firstly because we can identify someones´errors and we not tend to make it. Secondly, because we can practice and learn techniques to have a better correction and a quicker one.

In a very small city of Austria a man kidnap his daughter for almost 24 years. He also raped her and had 7 children with his own daughter. The name of kidnapper is Josef Fritzl he recognize all of his acts and meanwhile the case is investigated he is in prison. The seven children were found with psychological problems and with skin problems because they have never seen the light of the sun.

Also, (X)here in this page you can learn (P)english (MW)reading, listening and watching the (SP)diferents articles in mp3 that you can (WT)found in the page of BBC. But (WW) don´t all in this page is good and easy, (WW)because when you enter for a first time (MW)can (WW)lost or have (X) a some problems with (WT)download the (SP)diferents programs and podcasts,(P) for example some problems with the (SP)diferents (WW)formats of programs. But, (WW)out of this the page of BBC is very interesting (WW)for the way of (WT) learn (P)english, because (WO)also you can learn and review the notices (P) (X) (MW)and to inform about (WW) somethings of (WW)actuality of world. I (WT) loved the BBC webpage, is very interesting and funny. I visited a link where I(WT) can complete songs of different singers like Phil Collins, Mariah Carey, and Michael Jackson. Another link that I visited was (MW) Grammar and Vocabulary (MW)but (P),(MW) (X)these did not like (MW) (X) me, I think (X) that it was very (WT)bored, because is (MW)so slowly download (MW) (WW)the listening part and (WW)also the computers at the university are not the best. But now my (SP) favorite part (MW); Quizzes (P), when I discovered this link, I only (WT) play this games (X)all the first part of the class. At the first moment I made (MW) Crosswords (X)but it was difficult because (MW) only talk about marketing words, that I (WT)do not know. Later I played a game that (MW) (WW)named “WordMaster” where you have to guess the word from the clues to score points(P), (P)my best pointed was 15.000!!!. (MW)Also (WO) was a game that was not very funny, but (MW) helped (MW) to know about the British Isles,(MW) the game travel round about them.

(WW)These evening of winter, in the city of Buenos Aires, the great Colombian team, starring by great players like Carlos Valderrama of Faustino Asprilla, left (WW) to the field to seal its classification. The (SP) fiel (WW)of the "Estadio Monumental" of Buenos Aires was (P), until this day, unbeaten,(P) so the possibilities (WW)of Colombia (WW) for classficate were very small (P), (X)but the history change that day... Colombia (WT)defeats Argentine 5 - 0. I still remembered this day, I was four, but I was very happy (P), (X)and watching how all the country (SP)becamed paralyzed after the victory.
